What to Bring
A good hat and sunscreen are a must when sailing even when relatively cold and overcast. The sun and wind can combine to produce quite a sunburn if you are not properly protected. The more you are protected the better time you will have. This is especially the case for all day excursions.
Light soled shoes with a shallow tread design are required. Nothing makes a bigger mess of the deck than dark soled footware. Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Although unlikely we may occasionally experience weather extremes, the proper dress can be the difference between an exhilarating sailing experience and the opposite. While traditional foul weather gear will not be required a light weight weather resistant jacket that can cut the wind is always a good idea in case the weather turns cool and wet. No need to run out and buy a bunch of new gear as long as you have an outer shell that can cut the wind, and can use multiple layers of underclothing. This is especially the case during Spring and Fall seasons. Sailiing is a lot more fun when you are properly protected from the elements.
Please limit your clothing to what will fit in one small soft sided duffel bag. Cameras are a must of course! But please take care as they are likely to cease to function if they get wet. The forward trampolines on a catamaran are a great place to hang out and relax but another one of their functions is to quickly shed any water that may come over the bows! If you are not using the camera, I recommend you store it in a safe, dry place below deck. The viewing screens also get easily cracked. The survival rate is not good when left out, even in the salon or navigation station. Remember that anything you bring on board is your responsibility... "an ounce of prevention...." you know the rest!
